The Dawson Springs Police Department is accepting applications for the following position: POLICE OFFICER. Applicants must be or be able to meet the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council Peace Officer Professional Standards Certification requirements. Benefits include paid vacation, paid personal days, ten paid holidays per year, state retirement, health insurance, and paid sick leave. A take-home vehicle is allowed with restrictions. Overtime is required. JOB TITLE: Police Officer Position Requirements: Looking for a skilled and responsible POPS-certified individual to protect life and property through the enforcement of ordinances and federal, state, and local laws under the direction of the police chief and council. Required to maintain physical conditioning to safely mitigate imminent danger or peril related to hazardous law enforcement job duties as well as good communication skis.
Applications may be picked up at the Dawson Springs Mayors’ Office between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. All applications must be returned to the Dawson Springs Clerks’ Office no later than 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 13th.
