Eclipse Disabled Vehicle Towing Policy The Kentucky State Police will be towing all disabled or abandoned vehicles along I-24, I-69, the Pennyrile Parkway, Western Kentucky Parkway and KY 91 during the Eclipse weekend for motorist safety. Motorists will not be allowed to pull over or stop along any of listed roadways during the eclipse unless it is an emergency.

Eclipse weekend has begun! There are plenty of activities going on here in Dawson Springs. Schedule of events: Saturday, Aug. 19 • Riverside Park will be open for camping • Tradewater Canoe and Kayak will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. • Dawson Springs Museum and Art Center will have two exhibits on display — “Major & Minor League Baseball in Dawson Springs” and “Coal Mining near Dawson Springs” — from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. • The Darby House will have the “Mineral Water Golden Era - 40 Hotels and Boarding Houses” exhibit from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. • Ross Workman, an astronomer, will host an eclipse education session at 10 a.m. in the city building Sunday, Aug. 20 • Riverside Park will be open for camping • Dawson Springs Museum and Art Center will have two exhibits on display — “Major & Minor League Baseball in Dawson Springs” and “Coal Mining near Dawson Springs” — from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. • The Darby House will have the “Mineral Water Golden Era - 40 Hotels and Boarding Houses” exhibit from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. • Tradewater Canoe and Kayak will be open from noon to 6 p.m. • Gospel music will be played at the Redemption City stage from 2 to 5 p.m. Mission of Love will play from 2 to 3, while Living Waters will be on the stage from 4 to 5. • Food vendors will be downtown • The Clayton Quisenberry Band will play on the downtown stage from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. • Built Ford Tuff Band will perform from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Riverside Park • “Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 1” will be a movie played downtown at 8:30 p.m. and also at Riverside Park at 8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21 • City events open for day passes ($50) for those out-of-towners • Water sprayers, as well as food and craft vendors will be downtown. • Jackie Mathis, a local astronomy student, will give narration from eclipse onset to completion • A slip and slide will be at Riverside Park • Tradewater Canoe and Kayak will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. • Dawson Springs Museum and Art Center will have two exhibits on display — “Major & Minor League Baseball in Dawson Springs” and “Coal Mining near Dawson Springs” — from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. • The Darby House will have the “Mineral Water Golden Era - 40 Hotels and Boarding Houses” exhibit from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. • The Summer Girls and Celestial Harmony singers will put on two musical eclipse shows. The first show is from 10 to 11 a.m. and the second is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the Redemption City stage downtown. Local attendees pay $5 per person
